Position Overview:

As a Data Scientist at Healthonauts, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data-driven insights to drive innovation and improve healthcare outcomes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilise advanced analytical techniques to extract valuable insights from complex healthcare data sets. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong analytical skills, a passion for leveraging data to solve healthcare challenges, and a commitment to driving positive change in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Insights Generation: Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale healthcare data sets and extract actionable insights to inform decision-making and drive innovation.

  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including data engineers, clinicians, and stakeholders, to understand business requirements, define analytical approaches, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

  3. Innovation and Solution Development: Identify opportunities for leveraging data analytics and machine learning to develop innovative solutions that address key challenges in healthcare delivery, such as predictive modeling for disease diagnosis and treatment optimization.

  4. Risk Management: Proactively identify data-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the project lifecycle. Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices for data governance and privacy.

  5. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and alignment on data-driven initiatives.

  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of analytical models and findings through rigorous validation and testing processes. Implement quality assurance measures to maintain the integrity of healthcare data and analytical results.

  7. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of advances in data science, machine learning, and healthcare informatics, continuously expanding your knowledge and skills to drive innovation and excellence in data-driven healthcare solutions.


  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in applying advanced analytical techniques to healthcare data sets, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and data visualization.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience using data analysis and machine learning libraries (e.g., Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and terminologies (HL7, FHIR, OpenEHR, OMOP, Snomed CT, ICD-10, et cetera) and experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical data repositories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and ethical considerations related to healthcare data privacy, security, and compliance.
  • Strategic advantages (and/or):
    • experience with GxP in pharmaceuticals and life sciences.
    • experience in healthcare data standards (FHIR/OpenEHR).
    • experience in laboratories, biomedical research (PhD).
